Welcome to the Modern Typewriter, a daily blog to discuss topics that can’t be answered easily, or are just some fun topics! Today is January 16th, 2009, I’m Royce, and I’m here to talk about the upcoming Presidential Inauguration.
As the days go on, we have only about four days until our 44th President is sworn into office. His name is Barack Obama. With this inauguration, we will be making history. Barack Obama will be the first African-American President that the United States has ever seen.
“Either Barack Obama is going to be a great President, or he’s going to lack all of the qualities we need right now. Right now, we need a leader who can lead us through the Iraqi war and succeed, without the casualties mounting at the top of the charts.” says Cody, a writer at the Modern Typewriter.
Word has it that Michelle Obama, Barack Obama’s wife, is already picking out how she is going to design the White House to make it feel like home. Micheal Smith has been chosen as the official decorator of the White House to assist Mrs. Obama with the decorating.
Many preparations are still yet to be made as Mr. Barack Obama gets himself ready to become one of the most powerful men in the entire world, the President of the greatest nation on earth.
“I have no doubt that Barack Obama will be a good President. He seems like a nice guy and everything, I just don’t think he has what it takes to command the entire military forces of the United States and to lead us out of the Iraq war without the casualties being so high.” says Rochester, another writer.
On January 20th, 2009, Mr. Barack Obama will be sworn into office as the new President of the United States.
