You, A Wand, And Adventure…

Welcome to the Modern Typewriter, a daily blog to discuss topics that can’t be answered easily, or are just some fun topics! Today is July 20th, 2008, I’m Rochester, and I’m here to tell you about MagiQuest.

Ever wanted to just throw yourself into a Harry Potter book? Ever wanted to battle against evil? Ever wanted to see a dragon, pixies, and magical items that can talk?

Well now you can! With MagiQuest, you are thrown into the gaming world. An interactive video game based off of video games in the modern-day, how genius!

You are given a wand, which you keep forever as your game controller. It records your GP, your powers/runes, and more. You can buy wand toppers, and decorations for your wand if wanted. The types of wands you can get is the classic wand, and/ or the dragon wand.

You pick one of five clans (Warrior, Woodsy, Trixter, Shadow, Majestic). Each one of the five clans has a corresponding color.

  • Warrior, red
  • Woodsy, green
  • Trixter, purple
  • Shadow, black
  • Majestic, pink and blue

After training with your new wand and after picking your clan, the journey begins.

You are immediately thrown into the gaming world, with your wand as your controller. Take quests for runes and other powers, or search for riches. Enchant items, battle a dragon. The possibilities are endless.

“MagiQuest is probably one of the greatest ideas so far in this century. It takes the average video game and the average kid and satisfies the kid, and even the parent. Because the kid loves playing video games, and the parent loves to not see their kid sitting on a couch being a couch potato playing video games. So the creator, (Creative Kingdoms) was incredibly smart to do something like this. And the greatest part is that is it guaranteed that you cannot finish all of the quests in one visit. You can keep coming back for more and more.” says Royce, a writer at the Modern Typewriter.

“MagiQuest is for anyone who loves reading about witches and wizards and good verse evil. Actually, I stand corrected. It is for everyone!” says Melanie, another writer at the Modern Typewriter.

So what do you think? Was MagiQuest an awesome idea? Or was it a terrible thought?
