A Cat Aboard A Ship

Welcome to the Modern Typewriter, a daily blog to discuss topics that can’t be answered easily, or are just some fun topics! Today is January 10th, 2008, I’m Stephanie, and I am here to discuss the topic of a cat on board a ship.

The idea of cats on board ships started in Ancient Times. They were there for a multiple of reasons, but the most important was that there was probably rats and mice aboard the ship. And as we all know, cats like mice and rats. So the crew was afraid that the rats would damage the ship’s machinery, woodwork and other things.

Another reason was that cats were known as magical animals. They were thought to be intelligent and lucky on a ship’s journey.

Soon, cats were banned from Naval Ships because of hygiene purposes.

What do you think of cats? Should we keep them on Naval Ships, or no? Leave us a comment to express your opinion!

Remember, I’m Stephanie, and this is the Modern Typewriter, OUT!
