Welcome to the Modern Typewriter, a daily blog to discuss topics that can’t be answered easily, or are just some fun topics! Today is December 29th, 2007, I’m Karina, and I am here to discuss a very interesting topic, a man built a replica of the famous liner, the Titanic.
The famous ship that sank in April of 1912 was known as the largest ship during its time. It was claimed “unsinkable”, but yet, it slashed the side of an iceberg and indeed, sank. But we’re here to talk to you about a man who recreated the Titanic in his backyard.
Stan Fraser, a Titanic enthusiast has recreated the Titanic in his backyard. At 88 feet in length, it is a tenth of the size of the real Titanic. The replica is made of scratch wood, metal and anything the man could find.
“Everyone knows the tragic story of the Titanic,” says Mr. Fraser, 41 years old, as of July of 2006.
Recently, we made a post about the Ship of Dreams. If you want to read more, there is a post you should see.
This is the official website of “his Titanic.” Go ahead and visit it and see some pictures.
Remember, I’m Karina, and this is the Modern Typewriter, OUT!
